Updating tmobile g1 software

Maintaining updated HTC ‎T-Mobile G1 software prevents crashes and maximizes hardware and system performance.Using outdated or corrupt HTC ‎T-Mobile G1 drivers can cause system errors, crashes, and cause your computer or hardware to fail.If you have any question about doing this, don’t even try it.Android os updates can give you with new functionalities on your T-Mobile G1.You have to have Android v1.1 to install the update.I have a T-Mobile G1 phone (Dev Phone) with android 1.0.

For those who are just too impatient to wait and are feeling brave this is a good instructions are as follows: Warning, this is for informational purposes only.

But the update failed and now the problem is that I cannot boot the phone completely. Although, I don't have a T-Mobile SIM card now, I could pass that stage with an AT&T SIM card. When I press menu button it just shows me the settings for APNs.

Now it wants me to login to my gmail account to boot up. I believe in the newer versions of android, one can skip logging in to Google.

But now I cannot even "adb shell" to copy other update files to the SD card. Thanks, The T-Mobile G1 and the ADP1 are different phones, which do you have?

The reason you can't get an ADB connection is almost certainly because the "USB Debugging" settings has been switched off during the upgrade, you'd need to get into the settings and turn that back on again.
